KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) first of two units of coal-fired power plants owned and operated by Jimah East Power Sdn Bhd (JEP) successfully achieved its commercial operation date (COD) on Wednesday, adding another 1,000 megawatts (MW) to Peninsular Malaysia’s existing generation capacity of 22,748 MW.In a statement, TNB said JEP is building two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical (USC) coal-fired power plants in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.
